The Criminal Justice (CJ) Department at Worcester State University invites applications for one tenure-track assistant professor position with a start date set for the Fall Semester 2020. The WSU CJ Department is currently composed of 7 full-time tenure-track faculty members with nearly 500 CJ major students and 50 CJ minors. We are hiring for specialization and research in the areas of Security Studies. The area of specialization and experience can include Corporate Security, Asset Protection and Loss Prevention, National and Homeland Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Emergency Management, Intelligence and Cyber-security. Knowledge and ability to teach in more than one content area will be welcomed. A demonstrated ability to develop and teach online courses is highly desirable. Expectations Applicants should possess a terminal academic degree in criminal justice (preferred) or a criminal justice related field and possess documented experience teaching in an undergraduate setting to diverse learners. ABDs will be considered only if there is a firm defense date; terminal degree must be conferred by September 1, 2020. A law degree alone will not meet this criterion.
