Posted Job Title Data ManagerJob Profile Title Data Analyst CJob Description Summary This individual will be responsible for designing and maintaining study databases, assuring data quality, maintaining accurate documentation, generating analytic data sets from databases and raw data extracts, and coordinating with various project teams on matters related to data collection, extraction and analysis. The Data Manager will work closely with clinicians, project managers and statistical analysts, translating in-depth project knowledge into the development of data checking and processing plans, database queries, and data collection strategies. This individual should have significant, proven experience in the design of data systems for the analysis of medical outcomes. Data Manager will work with the other members of the Division of Cardiology to develop and uphold best practices for programming, documentation, and analysis to enable the Center for Inherited Cardiac Disease to consistently and efficiently produce high-quality output. Responsibilities include building and querying databases to create reports and determine the accuracy of data entered; exporting/importing data between different sources. Ideally, this individual would also be proficient in performing statistical analyses and statistical programming using e.g. Stata, SAS, SPSS, R, and other tools; learning and applying new statistical techniques for existing projects or proposals; supporting the writing of manuscripts for peer reviewed journals communicating with staff for ongoing project management. This position requires sophisticated programming skills in SQL. Experience working with electronic health record data is essential. Proficiency in a statistical package (i.e. Stata, SAS, SPSS, R) is preferred. In order to be successful, the candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and a good understanding of research design considerations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of data analyst experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required knowledge includes process and data modeling, data architectural development methodology and working knowledge of databases. Experience using data analysis tool and databases. Demonstrated competence in systems analysis and design and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
