The program at PIH has been designed to achieve the longitudinal requirements set forth by the ASHP in the areas devoted to patient care, management and educational services.
Pharmacy Practice During the course of the year, the resident shall have opportunities to devote to the study of pharmacy practice in the following areas:
Management As part of the program, the residents will be introduced to the concepts of hospital pharmacy management. Potential and highly encouraged areas of engagement for the resident include but not limited to the following areas:
Educational Component: The resident is expected to develop and strengthen their teaching skills through year round presentations made to different disciplines. Available experiences in teaching include:
In addition, the resident is also expected to complete a residency project suitable for publication, to be presented at the Western States Conference.

Applicants must be a graduate from Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
