The primary objective of this position is to teach Sport and Recreation Management courses in the Management Division at New England College. The Sport and Recreation Management major prepares students for careers in managing people and organizations in the sport, recreation, and leisure industries. Additional position responsibilities include committee work, academic advising, and review and evaluation of the major on a yearly basis. Candidates must have evidence of teaching ability, demonstrated knowledge and use of effective and innovative pedagogy, the ability to work with a diverse student population and faculty, and a commitment to active learning and experiential education.
• Teach undergraduate core SRM courses including: Recreation Facilities Management, Sport Finance, Event Management, Legal Issues in Sport & Recreation Management, and Psychology of Sport and Movement. • Ability to teach courses in the College’s General Education Program • Contribute to the advancement of the Management Division • Participate in off-site trips as part of student experiential education opportunities
• Disciplinary knowledge in the fields of Sport and Recreation Management and Leisure Studies • Demonstrated evidence of effective teaching ability at the college/university level is required for consideration • Teaching experience in the Sport and Recreation Management or related discipline(s) • A doctoral degree in Sport Management, Sport & Recreation Administration, Leisure Services, or a closely related field
• Sport Industry Experience • Experience teaching online courses
