Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for a Development Operations Application Administrator Intermediate to join the Infrastructure department within ITS. This role will administer and monitor information operations to Identity Access Management (IAM) and Middleware-related systems. This position requires a qualified individual who possesses a drive to focus and produce results, the ability to work independently to provide excellent customer service and effectively manage customer relationships in a very dynamic environment. This position will report to the IAM and System Operations Manager in the Infrastructure department. - Install, configure, test, debug, modify, and maintain systems and software, including Linux based servers, utilities, system-level software, scripts, and custom software applications; maintain and build from source code common open source software such as Apache Web Server, Kerberos, Tomcat and related tools and technologies.
- Manage and maintain of Identity Access Management and related systems by collaborating with team members and other IT groups to effectively maintain the IAM infrastructure in a 99.999% uptime production environment.
- Review and monitor systems for availability, error conditions, adequate space allocation, backup integrity and performance to ensure system stability. Ensure system backups and data archiving operations and tune performance of production system.
- Provide tier two support to ITS departments to identify and resolve problems data integrity issues and the maintenance of the full life cycle of identities.
- In collaboration with service stakeholders, developers, and architects and as a member of a team analyze business and user needs and design infrastructure solutions to meet those needs. Coordinate and implement IAM infrastructure upgrades and enhancements on budget and on schedule.
- Stays current with relevant advances in technologies in authentication systems such as MIT Kerberos, Active Directory NTLM/Kerberos, PKI, Secure Token and Web SSO including federated SSO, to meet the ever-changing needs of the University.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating knowledge of IT policies and procedures, hardware, software and technical services.
- Develops and follows best practices, procedures and shares knowledge with team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business computing or a related field or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a related role in a large environment requiring confidentiality, timeliness, customer service, organization, prioritization, troubleshooting, analysis, problem solving and working independently to successfully support Red Hat Enterprise and other *nix operating systems.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage appropriate technical tools to perform day-to-day administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration (such as backup, restore, failover, log interpretation, and performance monitoring) for Red Hat Enterprise, Ubuntu, and other *nix operating systems.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of networking technologies, encryption, VPN, load balancer and firewall technologies.
