Essential Functions:
POSITION SUMMARY: This statistics position will assist with projects within the DRIVES Lab of Washington University School of Medicine to ultimately help in producing scientific publications and grant proposals. The DRIVES lab primarily examines associations between normal aging, preclinical and symptomatic Alzheimer disease (AD), and driving. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Curate, clean, combine, and process large amounts of data from multiple sources and manage the resulting databases for statistical analyses of both cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses.
- Conduct cross-sectional and longitudinal multivariate statistical analyses. Strong proficiency in SAS and R required.
- Report results of statistical analyses in written, graphical, and verbal form.
- Prepare datasets for sharing with lab collaborators.
- Assist in development of data capture forms and screens as needed.
- If not already known, be willing to learn how to use Python and ArcGIS mapping software to present study information graphically.
- Interact with the leaders and staff of the Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC) Biostatistics Core regarding data accrual, management, and analyses.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or Epidemiology).
- Experience and proficiency with data analysis and data management utilizing statistical packages utilized by department/s.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Computer Science or related field with 3+ years experience various databases and statistical data analyses.
- Advanced proficiency in SAS, R, Python, JAVA, and other statistical packages.
- Advanced skills in graphically representing data in R and other software programs
- Working knowledge of office technology including word processing, spreadsheets and electronic communications.
- Working knowledge and/or experience with REDCap and SAS macro programming is a plus.
- The ideal candidate will possess computer programming experience, experience in a research environment, strong attention to detail, sound judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, strong ability to follow instructions, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work successfully with others.
Salary Range:
The hiring range for this position is $47,986 - $61,194 annually.
