![]() RSCH ADM 3 (Financial and Contract & Grants Analyst) Department Description The Office of Research (OR) serves as the primary campus office for matters related to research, including:
Job Summary Under general supervision of the CAO of the Impact Centers within the Office of Research with dotted line reporting to the Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Support team within the Office of Research, perform pre- and post-award support, financial analyses and reporting, and participate in financial planning and reporting for a number of special research programs within the Office of Research. Develop budgets and budget justifications, and prepare the necessary information and forms for proposals to extramural sponsors. Manage pre and post-award processes, analysis and forecasting, and control of complex budgets. Independently gather, manage, and analyze financial data from a variety of revenue streams, including state general funds, state and federal grants, private grants, gifts, and other funding sources. Monitor and maintain spending accounts for funded projects. Ensure compliance with sponsor and University Policy & Procedures for all business processes and reporting related to intramural and extramural funding, including financial and personnel procedures. Independently prepare meaningful financial summaries and reports for investigators, administrative officers, and executives. Manage other projects as assigned. Provide back-up to Interdisciplinary Research Support team Senior Financial Analyst in all similar areas. QUALIFICATIONS Required: -Demonstrated experience with pre-award research administration including preparing and submitting proposals for contracts and grants to extramural sponsors using campus and extramural sponsor electronic Research Administration (eRA) systems. -Experience interpreting, negotiating, researching, analyzing, explaining and applying contract and grant policies for state, federal and other funding agencies, including budgeting processes, financial reporting requirements and policies regarding the use of funds. -Experience developing budgets, reconciling ledgers and developing and/or adapting spreadsheets and databases. -Experience in financial analysis and business management, including forecasting and strategic planning, to analyze quantitative aspects of fiscal and budgetary issues, compile financial data and prepare financial reports, and present information in an appropriate format. -Mathematical skills to calculate, analyze and adjust direct and indirect costs, and cost sharing percentages. -Knowledge of post award accounting and financial reporting, and internal audits of grants and contracts to ensure compliance with institutional and funding agency requirements. -Experience working with sponsoring agency requirements related to OLAW, IACUC, and IRB. Preferred: -Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or ability to successfully obtain within 12 months. -Extensive managerial and professional experience in research administration at a university. -Experience with recharge services, operations and facilities administration and management.
