MCI USA provides professional management services for ITechLaw Association, a global network of 1,000 international tech lawyers from more than 80 countries. ITechLaw is known globally for execution of world-class conferences. While conferences are our hallmark, ITechLaw is now starting to focus on additional member services, including online member communication, substantive committees, and education dissemination, thought podcasts, webinars, and possibly even videos. This position works closely with the Managing Director on all initiatives with primary responsibility for conference management, which includes: - Managing conference committees
- Session development, starting with a call for papers
- Conference marketing
- Registration setup and inquiries
- Payment processing
ITechLaw is seeking someone with a strong sense of initiative and an entrepreneurial spirit. This job requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and an interest and comfort in working with data. With members from more than 80 countries, an understanding of culture, customs, and language is important. Experience interacting with people of different cultures – either professionally or in your personal experiences – is a plus. Primary Duties: Event Management - Speaker management for all conferences (3-4 per year):
- Conduct all event marketing via email and social media
- Setup, manage, and troubleshoot event registration system for each conference
- Create and distribute weekly and monthly reports
- Setup and execute 2-3 webinars per month
- Create agendas for weekly conference planning calls and lead as necessary
- Recruit event volunteers and manage them onsite
- Assist with production, assembly, and shipment of materials for on-site events
Membership - Manage annual membership renewal campaigns, including
- Maintain accuracy of member databases, including additions, deletions, and updates
- Complete monthly membership reports
- Administrative and Operations Support
- Serve as primary contact for general phone calls and emails
- Write, upload, and send marketing email messages
- Record, and manage payments and accounts payable
- Maintain and improve website, including edits and additions
- Manage the organizational social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Manage the online member platform (currently Higher Logic, but will soon change)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required: - Detail oriented and function with a high degree of success
- Extremely organized, and diligent, with ability to manage competing deadlines
- High proficiency in Microsoft suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Entrepreneurial outlook and desire to identify and implement solutions
- Understanding of user-experience and design with ability to create final products for promotion
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service even in difficult situations
- Operates with a high degree of maturity and integrity
- Experience or interest in membership associations, events, volunteer management, and/or global interactions a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree
Other - Must have 3-5 years professional work experience
- Experience at an association or in a legal setting helpful
- May include some domestic and/or international travel and weekend commitments
- Complete MCI USA timesheets
- Serve on appropriate MCI USA Matrix Teams; and function as an MCI USA Team Member in accordance with MCI’s corporate vision and guiding principles.
