Location: Hyde Park Campus Job Description: Unit-specific Responsibilities 1) The Part-Time I&R Coordinator for the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) serves as the key mission 'expert' who develops, implements, and connects people with Parkinsonâ™s disease (PD) and their caregivers to services, and ensures education and support to health care professionals and the general public to further APDAâ™s goals and mission. 2) Accountable for day-to-day program delivery, including the provision of information and referral to individuals impacted by PD, facilitating the establishment and maintenance of support groups, and coordinating educational and awareness events and health and wellness actives. 3) Responsible for the execution and planning of at least 2-3 annual educational conferences and symposiums. 4) Maintains a working knowledge of APDA, Parkinson disease, treatment options and health care trends impacting constituents. 5) Communicate regularly with all support groups, including annual visits to share relevant Parkinsonâ™s information. 6) Ensure referral lists are up to date and accessible.   7) Facilitate the distribution of education materials in the community. 8) Identify program efficiencies and opportunities to better reach undeserved communities through provider and community outreach and ongoing program improvements. 9) Cultivate relationships with key medical professionals in the Parkinsonâ™s field. 10) Ensures the confidentiality and security of all information. 11) Participate in related research projects. Unit-preferred Competencies 1) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels. 2) Demonstrated problem-solving and decision making skills.  3) Ability to effectively organize time, work independently, handle confidential material, and work well under pressure. 4) Proven computer and technical skills e.g., MS Office/Outlook, social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and marketing platforms. 5) Ability to work in cross-functional teams. 6) Willingness to travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications  Education 1) Masterâ™s preferred in a health-related or social service discipline.
