![]() University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF05868 The Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology, in the Anjie Zhen lab is seeking a Postdoctoral candidate to conduct research on gene therapies as treatments for HIV infection and other chronic conditions. The Zhen laboratory is interested in genetically engineering hematopoietic stem cells as long-term treatment for HIV infection and other genetic and chronic conditions. In addition, her laboratory is interested in studying mechanisms of immune exhaustion/dysfunction during chronic diseases and applying the findings to further enhance endogenous and engineered immune responses. Professional responsibilities include experimental designs and execution, data analysis, team and conference presentation, literature reviews and paper writing. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. or MD degree in a relevant field. The candidate will be encouraged to collaborate broadly with research teams in UCLA AIDS institute and beyond and therefore must have good communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
