Responsibility for all pre- and post-award functions for complex grants, specializing in DARPA, NIH and DOE and other similar awards. Provides primary forecasting and reconciliation for all awards. Works closely with PIs to develop grant and contract applications through careful reading of the request for applications and prior experience on similar funding mechanisms. Communicates with program officers for routine changes in funding scope and timing The Senior Grant Manager: The Senior Grant Manager is directly responsible for the day to day management of large complex grants including but not limited to ARPAs, U54, industry, cross- institutional, and all involving multiple subcontracts. These grants require constant communication with NIH and DOD on programmatic issues, and the need to respond extremely quickly to NIH and DOD on budgeting and other information. The Sr. Grant Manager oversees billing of subcontracts. Additionally, he/she is required to support pre-award for large grant submissions (center grants and program grants). All grant managers have a responsibility to read, interpret and act on the guidelines that govern federal research as described in the 45 CFR 75.502 and individual program announcements.
