Education Specialist for Program Quality – Office of Graduate Medical Education

Specific Title: Education Specialist for Program Quality Location: IU School of Medicine Department: IUSM - Dean's Office Campus: IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Announcement: The Indiana University School of Medicine Office of Graduate Medical Education (IUSM GME) is seeking an innovative individual to serve as the Education Specialist for Program Quality for Graduate Medical Education. The Education Specialist for Program Quality will work with the GME senior academic leadership in the creation and institution of essential educational initiatives, educational assessment tools, accreditation requirements focused on areas of education, diversity and will work with the IUSM GME programs in providing guidance for continuous improvement in program quality. This individual will also assist the senior associate dean and the GME program directors with plans for GME trainee educational remediation in the ACGME competency areas. This individual will have experience in leadership, proven record of educational scholarship productivity and experience with accreditation criteria. Additionally, the Education Specialist for Program Quality creates programmatic venues for multiple new ACGME institutional and program educational requirements. This individual will take a lead in the IUSM GME Resident as Teacher (RasT) program and ensure the school exceeds LCME accreditation requirements. Position Summary: The Faculty in this position will report to the senior associate dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME). This is a full-time position. The faculty will have previously demonstrated excellence as an educator as well as leadership experience. Attributes should include leadership experience in higher education or medical education, the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholder groups, collaborate with others to develop and implement effective programs that meet internal and external metrics related to excellence in teaching and learning and evaluate and disseminate outcomes associated with the work of the GME office. At IUSM, Graduate Medical Education is encountering a most significant transition regarding program growth and quality initiatives and outcomes.
