Position Overview: This position is fully funded by sponsored funds. The Director of Outreach works under the direction of the Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare (CASCW) to provide key administrative leadership for outreach and public engagement efforts at CASCW. In their leadership role within the Center, their decisions are guided by policies, procedures and the Center’s strategic plan, reporting directly to CASCW’s Executive Director. The Director of Outreach is a subject matter expert in the field of child welfare, specifically child protection. The Director of Outreach develops and maintains partnerships between CASCW, faculty, staff, students and community stakeholders, both internal and external to the University. This is accomplished through the development of the education and outreach projects, professional development opportunities, practice-focused publications, research informed faculty-collaborative projects and communications efforts-as described below. The overall objective of this position is to lead University and public outreach and engagement, community informed research to practice professional development opportunities, and both informing policy makers and being informed by policy makers of critical issues in the lives of children and families [ and the professional who work with them] in order to enhance child protection services. These things are accomplished by: developing and maintaining CASCW collaborations, producing practice and research-based publications, designing and implementing professional development events and trainings, and tracking public policy efforts.
