The Accounts Payable Representative is a vital team member of the Finance Office and serves as the primary person responsible for the timely processing and payment of all invoices for the university. The Accounts Payable Representative is also responsible for the reconciliation of employee travel advances and expense reimbursements and provides support to the Finance Office in ensuring compliance of the university?s policies and procedures related to the employee procurement card program. Reporting to the University Budget Manager, the Accounts Payable Representative will interact closely with the Purchasing Department along with faculty, staff, and vendors and must work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Required Qualifications:? An associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field.? At least one year of progressive experience performing accounts payable or related work.? Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, query tools and financial databases.? Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with multiple constituents within the university.? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects within or in advance of stated deadlines.? Attention to detail, accuracy, and a high degree of motivation is crucial for this role.Preferred Qualifications:? At least three years of progressive experience performing accounts payable or related work within a complex organization.? A bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus.? A motivated problem-solver who will take initiative to identify opportunities for and implementation of business process improvement efforts; this would include the experience or ability to automate processes and create efficiencies.
