Summary/Objective

The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for the operational activities ensuring that standards are maintained and assists the Director/ ADOP in providing overall direction of the operation of the Outpatient Pharmacy Areas such as Infusion Pharmacy, Retail Specialty Pharmacy and SmartHealth Class D clinic PHarmacy.  The Pharmacy Operations Manager must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas.

1. Responsible for effectively leading, developing, implementing and maintaining staff orientation and training activities for technicians, and tech students.
2. Actively serves as the primary contact and liaison for outpatient pharmacy operations, administrative issues, and requests for customer service support within the organization.Provides timely and efficient follow-up problem resolution and communication to staff and customers.
3. Collaborates with the DOP and ADOP with ongoing maintenance of all operational programs and documentation related to quality, regulatory, and daily operations as required by hospital policy, state, and federal licensing and accrediting organizations.
4. Assists with the initiation, development, and enforcement of rules and regulations pertaining to administrative and professional policies of the department with approval and cooperation of the Director of Pharmacy and ADOP, Hospital Administration and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
5. Manages implementation, maintenance and daily operations of automated dispensing technology, other pharmacy operations technology and information systems and consults as an expert in these areas.Assists in management and maintenance of medication formularies.
6. Assists the DOP with development of and managing operations strategic planning goals and objectives that are consistent with the hospital budget goals and metrics. Also, actively oversees and assures compliance and accountability of controlled substances according to state, federal and hospital regulations.Actively participates in hospital/departmental committees and projects and provides leadership as assigned
