Job Responsibilities:

30%: Supervision/Work Coordination

• Supervise the Research Services Evaluation Hub staff that include data analyst, and data technician staff to include all supervisory responsibilities:  hiring, work direction, managing performance, engaging/developing employees, rewarding/recognizing and maintaining a productive work environment.
• Determines and aligns the Research Services Evaluation and Statistics Hub work plans and goals with the overall strategies of research and scholarly work established for the department.
• Provides day-to-day management oversight and directs the core’s development in conjunction with the leadership team.
• Collaborate with pre and post award grant staff/accountants in planning accurate budgets to meet the data collection, management and analysis needs for all studies.
• Implement and guide activities related to process improvement, apply best practices and strategic direction.
• Work with Research Leadership to develop research guidelines and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency and quality.
• Provide direction and training for new systems and processes.
• Hire, train and provide professional development including annual performance reviews to direct reports.

20%: Intake Coordination for Project Requests

• Provide leadership and direction for the ongoing management and enhancements of the Research Services Intake Portal.
• Monitor the request for evaluation and statistics services from department faculty, leadership and staff including assigning staff to projects and monitoring timelines and progress in meeting requests.
• Develop reports including providing process measures to Research Leadership, Department Head and Administrator.

45%: Data Management

Provide support and leadership for data management, data analysis, software evaluation, and user support to include:

• Building and managing research datasets.
• Compute variables for the investigators and staff for data analysis.
• Maintain documentation of variable transformations and codebooks with data summaries.
• Delegate and direct the work of staff and students regarding data collection and retrieval. 
• Work with faculty to conduct analysis and interpret data in SPSS / SAS / STATA/R or other applicable software.
• Lead problem solving activities related to any issues that may arise with data collection tools or databases.
• Utilize various survey software (Qualtrics, REDCap, etc.) to develop data collection for studies and projects.
• Manage REDCap data collection for the department – develop best practices and supervise work.

5%: Communications

Writing and editing to disseminate study results, including:

• Assist with preparation of research and study reports, department reports, professional society conference presentations and research manuscripts.
• Provide data for IRB reporting, funder reports (including NIH), DSMB reports.
• Negotiating with vendors for department data collection needs.
