UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join the Medical Oncology ICU (6SA) team. Responsibilities include staff selection and supervision, planning and implementation of programs to meet specific patient care needs, focus on continuous improvement of the quality of patient care, and planning and management of the budget. The Nurse Manager provides leadership to achieve a culture of professional excellence. The Nurse Manager has 24-hour responsibility for managing service area(s) to provide effective and efficient patient care. Effectiveness and efficiency are achieved through operationalizing the Medical Center's and Nursing's mission and objectives. To meet these responsibilities, the Nurse Manager selects and supervises staff, plans and implements programs to meet specific patient care needs, works to continually improve the quality of patient care, and, with some exceptions, plans and manages the budget. The Nurse Manager provides leadership to achieve a culture of professional excellence in the service area, in the organization as a whole, and in the nursing profession. SCHEDULE Full-time. Day shift. RESPONSIBILITIES HUMAN RESOURCES 15% LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT 20% OPERATIONS 35% COMPLIANCE 10% CUSTOMER SERVICE 10% FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE 10% REQUIREMENTS Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field or enrolled in Master's program. At least two years of formal supervisory leadership experience in ICU services required. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington. DESIRED Supervisory leadership experience in medical and oncology ICU. UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine, and Airlift Northwest. |
