The Animal Health Diagnostic Center's (AHDC) mission is to improve the health of food and fiber producing animals, companion animals, sport and recreational animals, exotic animals, and wildlife. These activities protect and improve public health, promote environmental stewardship, and foster economic growth. The Bacteriology unit of the Animal Health Diagnostic Center provides high quality, detailed, and complete diagnostic testing services to veterinary clients and agricultural producers, in addition to contributing to the education of undergraduate and graduate students. In partnership with Quality Milk Production Services (QMPS), the Bacteriology laboratory assists to serve the dairy industry of New York State by providing diagnostic testing to promote herd health and the production of high-quality milk. What you will do: As the Bacteriology Operations Manager, you will leverage your ability to effectively collaborate and cooperate with two lab managers as part of a dynamic, innovative and committed management team for lab staff members who are dedicated to ensuring the health of animals and New York State dairy production. You will be a critical member of the Bacteriology team through your partnership with unit and organizational leadership to plan, monitor and report on the overall efficacy of fiscal, staff and process performance. Serving as a key member of the team, you will also provide mentoring and constructive coaching to staff while also providing project management and coordination of the unit's efficiency and efficacy.
