Regular Full-time, Pay Grade 42 (Nashville, TN) Budget and Finance Consultant, County Technical Assistance Services The Budget and Finance Consultant serves as the budget and accounting specialist overseeing the daily accounting and budgeting functions of CTAS. This includes approval of travel expense reports of CTAS staff and agency purchases, accounting and reconciliation work of the support staff, development and monitoring of the budget for CTAS and providing analysis at the direction of the CTAS management team. The Budget and Finance Consultant provides technical and consultative assistance to all county government consultants and county officials (elected and appointed) in the state. This position provides direct client assistance (through field services) to counties of the state regarding multifaceted problems affiliated with any budget and finance matters pertaining to county government. Management may also assign the County Budget and Finance Consultant to perform special project and research work. The County Budget and Finance Consultant often assists other consultants in the execution of projects. Salary Range $69,571.32 - $94,095.30 - Depending on experience and qualifications Duties and Responsibilities: Accounting and budgeting of the agency: Performing daily accounting, preparation, and review of monthly reports. Approval of invoices and travel expense report. Preparation and analysis of CTAS budget. Working with two accounting software programs, SAP and A/R. Serve on IPS/CTAS committees. Compile officials' salary schedules and annual tax statistics. Review revenue projections with the County Officials Evaluating projected revenue, expenditures, and long-term debt service requirements with the Finance Director Assisting the county officials in budgeting, accounting and financial reporting Reviewing and assisting in preparation of the highway five-year average reports Analyzing county taxes such as wheel tax and litigation tax.
