General Summary/Overview Statement The Mass General Brigham Strategy and Business Development departments focus on strategic planning, transformation, partnerships, new business creation and business development initiatives across the entire Mass General Brigham healthcare system. This role will manage both short and long-term, cross-system research, analysis, planning and implementation projects in support of these efforts. The Project Manager will work independently under the guidance of senior staff and leadership in the Transformation, Strategy, Clinical Partnerships and M&A, and Business Development departments, and work with clinical and administrative leaders and teams across the Mass General Brigham to ensure critical workstreams are advanced. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Manage projects of various scope related to system-wide transformation, system-wide strategy, clinical partnerships & M&A, and new clinical business development. • Coordinate with stakeholders across the Mass General Brigham system in various clinical and administrative departments and, at times, external consultants and other experts, to ensure progress of critical workstreams. • Plan, manage and over-see projects, utilizing recognized project management methodology including activities such as: o Definition of project scope and objectives o Project planning o Assembling and launching the project team o Management and status reporting tools o Requirements definition o Deliverables management o Status management o Managing and, at times, facilitating project meetings o Augmenting project-related research, as requested o Helping to manage stakeholder alignment o Implementation planning o Post-implementation/on-going support o Project administrative activities o Documentation, including but not limited to the Project Plan, Meeting Agendas, Meeting Minutes, Interview and Working Session Notes, Decision Documents and Scope Change Forms. • Identify and resolve problems across the project and project team(s) • Consistently communicate progress to and effectively escalate problems or conflicts, as needed, to senior associates, project sponsors, and Transformation, Strategy and Business Development leadership. • Identify and share project risks and challenges, and possible solutions, with appropriate stakeholders and leadership. • Monitor internal and external factors throughout project plans and evaluates impacts of risks or changes on the project plan. • Facilitate and ensures that strategy and business development engagements are successfully implemented in accordance with an established project timeline. • Provide on-going status reports to stakeholders, committees and executive leadership • Monitor quality of work performed by team members throughout the project. • Establish and create a positive team environment • Provide quality customer service and serve as an exemplary representative of the Transformation & Strategy Office and New Clinical Business Development departments. On-going communication, feedback and follow-through with customers and executive leadership is essential. • Uses the Mass General Brigham values to govern decisions, actions and behaviors. These values guide how we get our work done: Patients, Affordability, Accountability & Service Commitment, Decisiveness, Innovation & Thoughtful Risk; and how we treat each other: Diversity & Inclusion, Integrity & Respect, Learning, Continuous Improvement & Personal Growth, Teamwork & Collaboration. • All other duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related field preferred • 5 or more years of large project management experience • PMP or other PM certification preferred Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required • Experience in development of project plans and timelines • Strong commitment to customer service • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Facilitation and conflict management skills • Ability to effectively manage across a team • Ability to spot problems/breakdowns/risks ahead • Ability to delivery difficult messages across the team and to project leaders • Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements • Ability to understand the program environment and competing priorities in conjunction with program goals. • Ability to work within a complex, multi-site environment • Ability to handle stressful situations in calm and professional manner • Ability to cooperatively and effectively work with people from various organization levels (entry level staff to senior leadership) and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy • Proven project management skills; ability to provide direction to team members, other staff and consultants, if applicable • Strong interpersonal, negotiating and team building skills.
