Requisition Number: S_200626 Department: Campus Recreation-0965 Description of Work: The Business Manager is responsible for ensuring that all financial, human resources and payroll transactions are provided in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies and guidelines. This position serves as a resource for professional staff members in the areas of budget management, purchasing, accounts receivables, fixed assets, and use of our Recreation Management Software. This position will execute and review all financial, payroll and human resource transactions, while supporting a culture of excellent customer service. In concert with the Senior Leadership Team and department heads, develops annual budget and directs implementation of the approved budget. Produces and analyzes financial and statistical reports for Campus Recreation. The Business Manager interacts directly with departmental and institutional representatives and is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with departments and teams they interact with. The Business Manager will oversee the Payroll Associate and the student staff within the Business Operations office. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of finance and/or human resources experience; equivalent education/experience considered. One year of experience supervising staff (either functionally or full supervision). Experience with SAP or large integrated finance or human resources system. Knowledge of finance and/or human resources terminology and practices. Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze data and inquiries, think critically and make appropriate decisions. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to lead people, projects and/or teams. Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others. Preferred Qualifications: Experience performing finance and/or human resources-related tasks in a business setting. Experience facilitating training. Experience serving multiple units as part of a service team. Experience performing finance and/or human resources-related functions at a University of Nebraska institution. Experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff. Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices. Posted Salary: $56,000/yr. minimum Job Type: Full-Time
