Executive Director of Meadow Brook Hall

Job Description Summary: Provides administrative responsibility for the preservation, interpretation, promotion and access to Oakland University's historic resources, most notably the Meadow Brook Estate, consisting of: the university's founding building and national historic landmark, Meadow Brook Hall, and its collections; associated Meadow Brook Farms and Estate buildings, structures and landscapes; The Dodge Brothers Museum and Archives; and the historical and cultural legacy of the Dodge-Wilson family. Oversees the strategy of the self-supporting University auxiliary, through facility rental operations, events, fundraising and development, and other programs. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in history, art history, museum studies, business, finance, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Five years of museum and/or historic preservation management experience at the director or associate/assistant director level, including staff supervision, budget/financial responsibility, strategy development, and revenue generation. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others, including donors and volunteers. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing a historic house museum, including managing facility rental sales, event coordination services, and/or fundraising experience.
