DCH PeriAnesthesia is committed to growing a professional practice environment with major focus on role and relationship competence. Our vision is to develop and maintain a culture of professional nurses who value teamwork, interpersonal relationships with peers and upholding professional role clarity. The RN provides care consistent with ASPAN standards and evidence based practice. The RN is responsible for participating in the growth of the nursing profession and continuous improvement to achieve best practice in our unit to increase the value of care we provide to our patients and families. We provide fast-paced, family-centered, pediatric PeriAnesthesia care. We care for a variety of pediatric patient populations ranging from neonates to young adults who include ambulatory, inpatient, urgent/emergent surgeries, after hours sedation and prolonged procedural recoveries. Acuity levels vary from clinic patients to day surgery to critical care pediatric patients. Strong collegial relationships with all interdisciplinary team members, especially our pediatric anesthesiology providers, are fostered.
The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RNs care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor [Onsomble Model of the Professional Role]. Professional accountability enriches the Clinical RNs engagement as a leader in promoting an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork.
