Rutgers University, IFH invites applications for faculty positions that focuses on broader health care delivery research with specific focus on Patient Safety and/or Care Transitions. Rutgers recent alliance with RWJ Barnabas Health Systems create a unique opportunity to conduct health services research in a practical setting. Collectively, Rutgers Health and partners will have approximately 5 million lives under a single system, while unified with a single electronic medical record system. In the rapidly changing health care landscape and IFH focus on population health sciences, we are seeking committed investigators at assistant/associate/full professor level (tenured or tenure tracked) to join IFH and health systems to contribute rigorous science and knowledge development. Faculty are anticipated to engage in research and scholarly activities: Collaborate with Rutgers health systems, insurance companies, state agencies, clinicians, research networks, as well as patients, families, and primary care providers to support engagement in patient safety, and care transitions.
Assess the quality and appropriateness of patient safety measures and effectiveness of care transition plans
Work collaboratively with other researchers and team members to advance the state of sciences in patient safety and care transitions as well as perform other duties as assigned. In addition, work with hospital treatment teams and discharge planners for optimal after care plans, assist with linkage to out-patient services and community supports, investigate the efficiencies and effectiveness of care coordination services in the community for three months following a hospital discharge, and works with the community treatment providers, families and other supports to promote successful community engagement.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidates for Assistant Professor should have strong research potential (as demonstrated by relevant publications and funding potential). Candidates for Associate Professor should have a strong track record of research publication, and funding, and those for Full Professor position should have a track record of research, publication, and funding that distinguishes them, nationally or internationally, as leaders in Patient Safety and Care Transitions.
