This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. 

This position is in the Department of Internal Medicine, General Clinical Practice.  The position is located at 4511 Forest Park.  This position is for the Medical School Campus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Position provides financial management leadership to specific Divisions of Department of Medicine (DOM).� Duties include budgeting, financial and strategic planning, financial and practice management reporting.� Interacts on a regular basis with Division Administrators (DA’s), Division Chiefs, faculty, Medical School Finance Office and University’s Central Administration.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides key leadership and oversight of specific Divisional finances including clinical practice, general funds, grant funds and funds received from gifts and endowments.
2. Manage and coordinate the annual budget process with DA’s and their designated staff.
3. Oversees and manages the general accounting activities of the Divisions in coordination with administrative staff, Medical School Finance Office and University’s General Accounting Office.
4. Facilitates monthly and fiscal-year closing processes in coordination with assigned Divisions and Medical School’s Finance Office.
5. Prepares periodic division forecasts with the DA’s.� Performs monthly variance analysis for review with the Chief Operations Officer and Director Business Operations.
6. Prepares and presents complex financial information and analysis as requested by the Chief Operations Officer or Director Business Operations.
7. Serves as departmental representative to Division Administrator and Division Chief on all accounting and financial activities for specific Divisions.
8. Other types of responsibilities could include: monthly A/R operating system reconciliations, inventory operating system reconciliations, and department cost center allocations to divisions, managing accounting for clinical trials operations, and recharge center operations.

Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in finance and business related field with 3-5 years related experience.  

• Master's degree or CPA preferred.������
• Familiarity with University financial systems.�����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������
• Experience in academic or healthcare institution is preferred.
• Knowledge of Workday software a plus.����
• Familiarity with EPIC healthcare system.
• Exercises discretion and independent judgment effectively in decision making processes and planning.
• Masters excellent oral and written skills.� Communicates in an amiable yet effective manner.
• Maintains a professional demeanor with faculty, administrative and clerical personnel as well as with physicians and contacts at other institutions; ability to exercise diplomacy.
• Gathers and analyzes information in a proficient and creative manner.
• Good basic understanding of AIS, FOCUS, HRMS systems, preferably Workday.� Literate in personal computers and related software.� Ability to translate computer abilities to productivity gains.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity.

The hiring range for this position is $56,472 - $73,403 annually.
