Initial Review Date (IRD): 01-25-2021 Dept Marketing Statement Under the general supervision of the HSI Grants' Financial Analyst and in coordination with the HSI Grants Project Director, the Financial Analyst has responsibility for contract and grant administration, financial analysis and reporting, including overseeing purchasing, categorizing all expenditures, reconciling budgets against purchases, and realigning budgets as needed. Duties will include using professional financial services concepts; applying organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complicated issues; and working on financial services problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Contacts are primarily internal to the department, but may also be external. Working closely with the HSI Grants Financial Analyst and the HSI Grant Project Director for the grants, this position will have financial management and fiscal responsibility. The Student Achievement and Equity Innovation (SAEI) portfolio of departments is a branch of the Division of Student Affairs and Success focused on academic support services, advising/counseling, student life/co-curricular programming, student identity development and retention/student success initiatives. The Student Achievement and Equity Innovation area includes a wide array of multi-disciplinary academic and non-academic units including: Disability Resource Center (DRC), Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP), Learning Support Services, Services for Transfer and Re-entry Students (STARS), Smith Renaissance Society, Student Veteran Programs, African American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC), American Indian Resource Center (AIRC), Asian American/Pacific Islander Resource Center (AA/PIRC), Chicano/Latino Resource Center (El Centro), Women's Center (WC), the Lionel Cantu Queer Center (LGBTQ+), Undocumented Student Services (USS), SAEI Business Team and the UCSC Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives (HSI) grants (SEMILLA, GANAS Graduate Pathways (PPOHA) Grant and GANAS Career Pathways)and campus committees/programs. SAEI is comprised of over 125 state, federal, student service fees and gift fund sources and an annual operating budget of over $7.84 million dollars and $1.95 million in gifts, endowments, other revenue and annual one-time funds. SAEI provides services to the campus community with over 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students and has over 77 career employees and 865 student staff employees operating in 8 facilities/locations.
