Position Summary:

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Data Analyst at Rutgers, Center for Tobacco Studies (CTS).

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for developing and overseeing data infrastructure, data management, and performing analyses to facilitate the accomplishment of applicable research objectives. This position is grant-funded and our offices are located in New Brunswick, NJ.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Oversees data management systems for primary data collection; works with faculty to set up, create, and integrate data collection projects and surveys into workflow of data management.
• Develops, updates, and performs data quality control (QC) procedures to ensure data integrity; works with faculty to address issues impacting data quality including but not limited to system issues, data entry and data collection errors.
• Prepares datasets and provides supporting documentation for statistical analysis.
• Develops appropriate statistical models to analyze research data, while managing and maintaining datasets.
• Interacts with senior and junior investigators to analyze study data for technical reports, journal articles, and conference presentations. This may include writing and contributing to publications.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Master's Degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Survey Research or a related field.
• One (1) year of relevant work experience.
• Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of tobacco control related issues.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Expertise in statistical analysis programs (SAS and/or SPSS).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with additional programs such as STATA.
• Experience with survey research and working with large data systems such as PATH, NHIS, BRFSS and/or TUS-CPS.
• Experience with data management systems such as Qualtrics.
