This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week.  

Due to the demanding nature of providing video production services to a highly-engaged school community, the position will be required to work flexible hours.

The video production specialist may be required to attend public events, meetings and functions outside normal working hours, and will be expected to work some weekends as a function of their normal job responsibilities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Center for Digital Education is a new department within Olin Business School that will assist in the design, creation, and development of Olin’s online programs, hybrid programs, and digital learning resources. The Video Production Specialist will collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to produce dynamic course videos that adhere to best practices and ensure the highest quality of learning for Olin students.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Video Pre-Production - Work through the video pre-production process in collaboration with the faculty and instructional designer. This pre-production process might include; ideation, storyboarding, scriptwriting and review, video prototyping and practice shoots.
2. Video Production/Editing - Act as video production shooter and editor to see the video through the production and post-production process. All videos should be color corrected and special attention should be paid to the audio quality and mastering.
3. On-Location Shooting - In addition to shooting videos in studio, we will have videos that need to be shot on-location around campus, St. Louis and at national and international sites. On-location shoots will require an expert ability to choose shooting sites that have proper lighting and desirable backgrounds, to collect B-roll, and to achieve high sound quality even amidst less desirable conditions. On-location shoots will also require high quality production with less equipment and proven ability to travel and protect our production resources.
4. Project Management - Manage video projects and other priorities simultaneously, expertly keeping track of tasks, stakeholders and deadlines. It’s imperative that video projects be managed effectively in order to provide prompt content delivery for students. Project updates should be communicated to the Media Production Manager with any concerns being made known.
5. Video Delivery and Distribution - Work with the instructional designer and digital platform team to ensure that all videos are exported, uploaded, and linked in the correct locations so that all required parties have access.
6. Usability and Accessibility - All video content must meet usability and accessibility guidelines (ie. captions, transcripts, etc.) and adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in video production or a related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience to equal eight years.

• Five or more years of work experience in addition to a bachelor’s degree.
• Familiarity with project management tools.
• Familiarity with graphic design and motion graphics.
• Familiarity with video communication systems.
• Familiarity with live broadcast switchers.
• Experience with Virtual Reality.
• Experience with set and stage design.
• Experience with 360 Cameras.
• Experience with drone filming/piloting.
• Experience with still photography and photo editing.
• Experience shooting with a Lightboard and/or Smartboard.
• Experience creating educational media including screen-capture, webcasts, podcasts, talking head videos, etc.

The hiring range for this position is $45,884 - $61,266 annually.

This position is in the Center for Digital Education.  This position is for the Danforth Campus in the Olin School of Business.

Some travel, locally, nationally, and internationally may be required for on-location video shooting.
