Scheck Hillel Community School
Scheck Hillel Community School located in North Miami Beach, Florida is seeking qualified candidates for an Upper School Dean of Students for the 2021-2022 academic year. This full time, on campus position, will support our students in grades 6-12 in their personal and social-emotional growth. Reporting to the Middle and High school Directors, the Dean is a visible presence throughout the upper school providing support and building relationships with students, faculty and families. The Dean works collaboratively with faculty on issues related to student support, conduct and accountability. Balancing work as student advocate with responsibility for managing student conduct, the Dean of students plays a key role in growing and maintaining a healthy, positive school climate and culture. Qualified candidates must have exceptional written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with and support faculty, connect with students and provide strong peer leadership. Candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or higher (masters preferred), thorough knowledge of adolescent development and experience working with students from a variety of backgrounds who possess a range of abilities and interests. Previous classroom experience preferred. |
