Grants/Contracts Coordinator

This position exists primarily to assist faculty, post docs and graduate students in the preparation, review and timely submissions of all research proposals (grants/contracts) for the Department of Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry (CPB). May assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager, depending on need and incumbents skills and abilities. Major responsibilities include coordination of all required documents, signatures and approvals to submit federal, industry and foundation grants/contracts; staying abreast of all regulatory compliance issues associated with the various types of grants; development and maintenance of up-to-date resources outlining the application procedures to all major funders; preparation of grant proposal budgets and justifications; review all applications for completeness and accuracy and ensure that all applications are submitted by the funders deadline(s); assisting in updating post-award financial reports for faculty. This position will ensure a smooth hand-off and coordination of activities from pre-award to post-award reporting and documentation for the department. This position works closely with the Office of Proposal and Award Management (OPAM), Technology Transfer and Business Development (TTBD), and other business offices to coordinate all requirements for submissions and to stay abreast of all rules, requirements and procedures concerning awards, grants, and contract details.
