Assistant Professor-Mental Health Tenure Track

Description: The School of Nursing at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is seeking faculty members to apply for a full time tenure track position. The School is recruiting creative and highly motivated candidates who want to advance their academic careers and support the research, teaching, and service missions of the NCAT. We are seeking innovative and talented individuals actively engaged in research and in evidence-based practice and education to become part of our dynamic team. Priorities are for research a with a focus on health care disparities. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is doctoral/research academic community with a focus on students. Our campus sits on 200 beautiful acres in Greensboro, NC. Our enrollment is more than 10,000 students and our workforce includes more than 2,000 employees. The School of Nursing is in the College of Health and Human Sciences with a community of scholars in the disciplines of psychology, sociology, social work, and human performance and leisure studies. The School of Nursing at NCAT is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing. The BSN program has traditional, accelerated and RN-BSN entry options. The School of Nursing is a partner in the Union Square Campus a key initiative of Opportunity Greensboro. Union Square is a 103,000 square foot state-of-the-art healthcare simulation center. Internal job number: 001795 Requirements: Doctorate in Nursing or related field and a Master of Science in Nursing by the anticipated date of appointment. Preferred: Record of research or creative works, teaching and/or professional experience sufficient to merit a tenure track position Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing educational requirement is required. Record of scholarship (publications/presentations/funding) expected of rank as an Assistant Professor. Three years clinical experience related to concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care to individuals with psychiatric/mental health care needs.
