This position is in the Department of Biostatistics.  The position is located at the Becker Library.  This position is for the Medical School Campus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Division of Biostatistics at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a qualified Project Manager to support a single NIH-funded project (the Heart Lung and Blood Co-morbidities Implementation Models in People Living with HIV Research Coordination Center, RCC).� The RCC is coordinating the scientific and operational efforts of research projects being conducted in six sub-Saharan African countries and travel to those countries may be expected approximately once or twice per year for four to five days at one time. This position is a leadership role for a focused multitasker. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with effective time management skills, be experienced in tracking and managing progress of tasks, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.� The successful candidate will interact with government representatives, academic faculty, medical personnel including physicians and nurses, statisticians and other project managers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for day-to-day activities including administrative management.�
2. Serve as liaison and public interface among the multiple cores and principal investigators of the RCC; with RCC faculty and staff including database managers, statistical data analysts, computer programmers, and program coordinators; with NIH program officers; with the principal investigators and program managers of the associated international projects; and with the WU Internal Review Board (IRB).�
3. Monthly meetings and conference calls including organizing, recording minutes, and tracking and managing action items; and assuming primary responsibility for event planning for an Alliance-wide annual scientific meeting to be held internationally.
4. Work within the team to help manage and maintain the public website and the secure communications system; assist faculty and staff as needed; assist in developing instruction and procedure manuals for projects and data sharing; and serve as editor for a semi-annual newsletter.�
5. Establish and maintain a variety of databases, documents and projects including personnel directories, coordinating publications and presentations, assisting in the production and distribution of reports including graphics and tables as needed.
6. Primary responsibility for making travel arrangements for both domestic and international travel for the RCC faculty and staff, including filing travel reports.�

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related subject with five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling nine years.

• Master’s degree with five years of experience in project management, health care management, clinical trials management or related field.
• Experience in web-based database systems and managing webpage.
• Proficiency in multiple web browsers, both PC and Mac.
• Experience in meeting/event planning.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to function independently with team leadership abilities.
• Focused multitasker.
• Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in REDCap, SamePage, R, and/or SAS.
• Experience in generating tables and figures from research databases.
• Experience with IRB (HRPO) procedures in submitting and annual updating.
• Experience with domestic and international travel arrangements.

The hiring range for this position is $47,985 - $61,193 annually.
