Outpatient surgery located in the Center for Health and Healing. We function withmultiple operating room suites, providing care in a variety of orthopedic and other surgical specialties.

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN's care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Perioperative RN works as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing direct and indirect professional nursing care in the Circulating or Scrub roles. The RN has expertise in the application of the nursing process within the Perioperative setting, has the ability to manage stressful/ unusual situations in a positive manner, and embraces the OHSU Core Competencies (Accountability, Collaboration, Communication, Diversity, Integrity, Respect, Service Orientation and Teamwork) in to his/ her practice. The RN must practice within Oregon law and adhere to AORN standards and recommended practices.

• BSN and BLS required for external applicants.
• ASN and BLSrequired for internal applicants.
• Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
• Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools.
• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license.
• Minimum of one year of current inpatient perioperative surgical nursing experience. Must be able to circulate within a variety of surgical specialties. No new grads. Must have excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team and the flexibility to delegate, prioritize and adapt in stressful situations.
• Ability to focus attention on details while performing other skills at the same time.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
  

• Two to five years of experience working in a level 1 Trauma Center.
• CNOR license.
