• Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as, math, statistics, computer science or epidemiology).

The hiring range for this position is $47,986 - $61,194 annually.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for development, implementation and use of data collection systems as well as presentations and dissemination of a variety of datasets for a variety of purposes. Execution of these responsibilities requires collaboration with various stakeholders to create effective and efficient processes for data collection, cleaning, coding and analysis. This role is responsible for the creation and building of data collection instruments in appropriate data collection systems and the tracking and extraction of data from the systems. A professional and collaborative attitude is required, along with attention to detail, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality and security, and adherence to deadlines while striving for continuous quality improvement. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs data analysis and/or data management for investigators using statistical packages including generation of tables and graphs. Collects, compiles, cleans and codes data for various purposes in the Office of Education to be used for program evaluation and research purposes, as well as data analysis requests. Develops code books, identifies missing data, problem solves to ensure the data is accurate. Provides guidance in identifying and defining data requirements. Ensures the integrity, confidentiality and security of all datasets.  Collectively with the team, creates reports and review presentations, manuscript, tables and graphs for accuracy and quality.  May function as a statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community.
2. Assists in database design, implementation and maintenance of data collected over time for research purposes, including acquisition, editing and reporting.
3. Designs, develops, and modifies data management infrastructures to expedite data analysis and reporting.  Develops a data collection methodology that best suits the nature of data to be collected. Working with Office of Education colleagues to evaluate data systems, tracks and extracts data and streamlines systems to ensure efficient and effective transfer of needed data. Develops standard operating procedures for data handling and archiving.
4. May assist in design and development of data entry systems. Builds data collection systems, including surveys in the appropriate software; pulls reports to be shared with various stakeholders; pulls and cleans raw data to be merged with larger datasets for program evaluation and research purposes. Provides technical oversight for integrating new technology or new initiatives into data standards and structures.
