The Department of Development is instrumental in this journey aligning the philanthropic strategy and approach toward funding institutional top priorities. The Chief Development Officer (CDO), in partnership with his/her physician partner is accountable for:
The CDO reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and is the administrative partner to the Executive Dean, Department of Development. The CDO works collaboratively with Mayo Administration colleagues, physician colleagues, and allied health staff and nurtures a culture of agility, empowerment, innovation and transparency within the Department of Development. The CDO serves as a member of leadership groups within Mayo Clinic, including the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees with the Executive Dean for Development; Board of Trustees ex-officio, Mayo Clinic Executive Operating Team, and Mayo Clinic Administrative Team. Outcomes Expected Achieve fund raising goal as defined on an annual basis, including achieving the annual fundraising goal, campaign goal (if applicable), cost-to-raise a dollar, and adherence to the annual department budget. Philanthropic dollars secured meet the financial metrics, i.e. operating, non-operating and capital goals as defined on an annual basis. Demonstrated growth of the pipeline to ensure annual fundraising goals can be achieved through benefactor and prospective benefactor pipelines. Organizational Requirements
