FINANCIAL ASSISTANT 2 , Laboratory for Nuclear Science's (LNS)-Fiscal Office , to provide complex and diverse financial support. Will conduct financial review for research/general accounts and monitor expenditures for compliance with sponsor requirements; maintain account information; prepare monthly reports for principal investigators (PIs); prepare journal vouchers and internal billing; assist research staff, students, administrative assistants, and faculty with fiscal problems; interact with PIs, research staff, and other MIT departments on fiscal matters; monitor and reconcile MIT and LNS outstanding commitments; process research account closeouts; monitor and analyze post award budgets; serve as contact for faculty/research staff; submit sponsor information requests; and assist financial officers with special projects as needed. This position involves making sound detailed decisions based on broad general guidelines.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED : at least three years' experience in accounting/finance; excellent analytical, organizational interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel; proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision; self-motivation; attention to detail; and willingness to assume new responsibilities as needed.
