Position Summary:

Primary responsibility involves monitoring, detecting, protecting and maintaining the security of data, systems and networks. Plans, configures, designs, develops, implements and maintains tools, systems and procedures to insure the integrity, reliability and security of data, systems and networks. Establishes departmental goals and objectives, functions with autonomy. Manages the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and often physical resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and objectives.

Annual Rate $104300 $191100 $277800

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure technology, including server hardware, operating systems, networking, storage, virtualization, automation and cloud architecture
  • Excellent understanding of security architecture and design principles
  • Excellent understanding of Identity Management governance, provisioning, and federation
  • Excellent understanding of authentication and authorization policies, procedures and technologies
  • Ability to handle sensitive and difficult situations in a professional and responsive manner; ability to exercise own judgment
  • Ensures full cooperation in all risk management activities and investigations
  • Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with staff and senior management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and to analyze and interpret data in order to draw valid conclusions for complex business issues
  • Demonstrated experience in determining deviation from acceptable configurations
  • 5+ years in academic and healthcare IT environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent work experience

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • ITIL Certification
  • Experience with Security Log Aggregators (i.e., Splunk)
  • Next Generation Firewall Management (i.e., Palo Alto, Cisco FirePower)
  • Programming Languages: Tenable, PowerShell, Microsoft Scripting, Visual Basic
  • CISSP or equivalent IT Security certification
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
