The Division of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Grant and Contract Analyst. The purpose of this position is to administer operations and analysis for the Dermatologic Melanoma Research Programs in the Division of Dermatology. The Dermatologic Melanoma Research Program focuses on many aspects of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin cancers such as melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. The Dermatologic Melanoma Research Program is committed to the priorities and goals of the Division, Department and School of Medicine to conduct research associated with skin cancer. This position will work to support these research goals and efforts and directly impacts the financial health and stability of the program through strategic and proactive operational and financial analysis and oversight. The Division of Dermatology has a clinical and research enterprise consisting of patient care revenue, sponsored research funds, endowments and gifts, state funds and affiliated hospital funding associated with the academic programs within the Division totaling over $18M. The Division of Dermatology occupies space at multiple sites including University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center (HMC), Veterans Administration Puget Sound Health Care Systems (VAPSHCS), and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA). The primary responsibility of this position is to administer pre and post award management and provide budget analysis to division PI’s and leadership team for the Dermatologic Melanoma Research Programs in the Division of Dermatology. The Dermatologic Melanoma Research Program focuses on many aspects of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin cancers such as melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. The Dermatologic Melanoma Research Program is committed to the priorities and goals of the Division, Department of Medicine, and School of Medicine to conduct research associated with skin cancer. This position will work to support these research goals and efforts and directly impacts the financial health and stability of the program through strategic and proactive financial analysis and oversight. This position requires excellent analysis skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, and project management skills in a constantly changing, high-stress environment. This position must maintain dynamic collaboration and communication with principal investigators, steering committees, industry sponsors, vendors, federal agencies, program and other division staff. The Grant and Contracts Analyst will act independently and on behalf of the program by applying knowledge of divisional, institutional, state, and federal policies and regulations. The Division of Dermatology has a robust cancer research program that collaborates with SCCA and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The Program Operations Analyst position must be able to facilitate agreements/collaborations between the entities to further the research mission of the division. This position is crucial for the success of the Dermatology faculty and staff in keeping operations and research running smoothly. This position is essential in working with faculty, staff, and our partners on grant management. Delays in funding can ultimately impact the research productivity of the Division of Dermatology and could jeopardize research collaboration Responsibilities: Research Administration – pre and post award management This position manages all pre and post award activities for foundation, federal research grants, clinical trials and contracts in compliance with University, state and sponsor standards for the Dermatologic Melanoma Research Program.
