Position Overview
ACHS is currently seeking an experienced full-time Production Assistant and Shipping Clerk to join our team. The Production Assistant and Shipping Clerk is a varied position that includes receiving and packaging certified organic botanicals, essential oils, and other raw ingredients as well as supporting shipping and other facility operations. This position works with a small team committed to ensuring our students and customers receive the highest quality natural products.

  • Receive and handle products in compliance with Oregon Tilth organic certification procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including filling essential oils, packaging botanicals, and assembling academic lab kits for student materials.
  • Package products with strong attention to detail and care for the aesthetic of the product including accurate and attractive labeling.
  • Assist with pulling, packing, and shipping retail orders and academic supplies to students across the U.S. and internationally.
  • Ensure accuracy of all products shipped and accompanying documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory of materials and supplies through thorough record-keeping and reporting.  
  • Report damages and discrepancies during the shipping and receiving process for accounting, replacement. and record-keeping purposes.
  • Accurately package herbs, oils, and other holistic health products for retail sale.
  • Follow quality control procedures to ensure product quality and integrity.
  • Cleaning and building maintenance including facility cleaning protocols in accordance with GMP. 
  • Keep Apothecary Shoppe College Store well-stocked and looking neat and welcoming including weekly restocking, dusting and merchandising. 
  • Assist retail customers in-person. [Note the store is currently closed to in-store customers due to COVID-19.]
  • Accurately file production and shipping records. 
  • Assist other staff members, when needed.
Required Qualifications
 
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have experience working with certified organic products, ideally botanicals, essential oils, or other dietary supplements in a GMP facility. 
  • Be able to work independently, accurately, quickly, and with minimal supervision as well as work as a collaborative member of the team.
  • Be goal-oriented and take pride in work.
  • Be flexible and able to react well to change.
  • Be proactive and show initiative.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be customer service-oriented with a student-centric mindset.
  • Have a car and valid driver’s license for daily postal package drop-offs.
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical/problem-solving skills, and attention to detail skills.
  • Proficient in using Mac computers and general computer skills including use of Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional production and small office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, email, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
