Saddle River Day School is currently seeking a talented and collaborative Financial Officer to partner with and support the Head of School and the Board of Trustees in executing on the School’s mission and plans.  The Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and will have demonstrated successful managerial leadership and experience in a broad range of financial matters.  S/he will have an understanding of, and appreciation for, an independent school culture and the ability to communicate effectively and interface easily with all constituencies, both inside and outside of the School.  

The Financial Officer will be a key member of the Administrative Team and will work to ensure congruence among the School’s financial and business and operations, its mission and core values, and its strategic initiatives. Above all, The Financial Officer must understand and appreciate the balance between the business considerations and its educational purpose. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in speaking and writing. Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, proficiency in computerized spreadsheets and financial modeling, and at least ten years of experience, preferably in an educational context or with similar responsibilities in not-for-profit organization.  An MBA and/or CPA certification is a plus. 

The compensation package will be competitive and commensurate with experience.  Start date:  July 2, 2021
