Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drives and services any and all Laboratory automotive vehicles under any conditions of usage
• Loads and unloads vehicles
• Performs necessary vehicle road maintenance
• Performs related clerical duties

Position Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires a High School diploma, GED, or higher
• Requires a Class A CDL license
• Must meet all DOT/ BNL medical protocols
• Must understand and comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
• Must have a verifiable "acceptable leave record"
• Ability to work in a team setting and be customer focused

• Ability to perform material handling tasks in a wide variety of conditions using various material handling equipment, for example forklifts, skid steers, hand trucks, and manual lifting
• Uses various specialized tools and equipment such as tractors and concrete mixer
• Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks common to maintenance and construction trades on buildings, roads and grounds
• With limited instruction the candidate must be able to operate power lawn mowers, various power tools & equipment
• Performs wide variety of manual labor tasks on roads, grounds or building maintenance
• May perform unskilled tasks assisting mechanics, for example using hand tools & other mechanized equipment to perform landscaping & property maintenance activities, support utility breaks & restoration, storm drain cleanout, demolition activities, basement/MER cleanout, install signs & fencing, erect barricades, and support roadway & sidewalk repair

Other Requirements:

• Must meet the medical requirements of the "Job Assessment Form"
• Must have a telephone and must provide the number to BNL for callout and contact purposes
• Must possess written and verbal skills
• Must be capable of following written instruction procedures, work orders, and similar documents.
• Must possess the writing skills to sufficiently complete work orders and other required documents
• Must be able to communicate verbally with customers, fellow workers, and supervisors
• Must be able to complete all the requirements of the Job Training Assessment
• Must be available for off-hour response to emergency call-ins for snow removal and other events
