Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance & Administration, the Finance Manager will organize, lead and direct the eCornell Finance team by establishing a service-oriented team, providing exceptional support in financial management, reporting, and policy interpretations.

What you will do:

• Oversee and manage the daily finance and accounting operations of eCornell including general accounting, financial planning, internal controls, management reporting, risk and cash management.

• Partner with Sr. Director of Finance & Administration and Business Analyst on the development of key metrics, trend analyses, and financial projections in support of decision making.

• Provide effective leadership, supervision, and positive support for transaction accuracy, compliance, timeliness, and exceptional customer service.

• Work toward continually optimizing the department's efficiencies and effectiveness.

• Optimize the utilization of University financial systems and apply expertise in interpreting and applying University financial policies, best practices, and standard operating procedures.

• Maintain an effective working relationship while partnering with various university central offices including DFA and the University Budget Office on financial and administrative matters to ensure compliance and adhere to current policy and procedures.

What we need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, with 3 - 5 years of experience in financial operations and management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 1-2 years of experience supervising staff support positions with demonstrated effective leadership and supervisor yskills.

• Must possess a strong teamwork philosophy and ability to motivate staff in a fast-paced work environment, with a commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion.

• Must be highly organized with an impeccable attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and delegate to team members.

• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting and financial analysis and reporting.

• Strong analytical and sophisticated reasoning skills are essential. Ability to analyze large amounts of data, deliver succinct reports, and consult with executives to guide decision making and lead executive support.

• Excellent customer service skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals.

• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to handle confidential issues with tact and discretion, and to sustain ethical workplace practices.

• Proven ability to interpret and apply policy and procedures to daily tasks in a consistent and thoughtful manner, with a commitment to kindly enforcing university policies and procedures.

• Demonstrated comfort with working in an ever-changing environment; willingness to adapt in the midst of ambiguity.

Additionally, we would prefer:

• Experience with Cornell's systems (including KFS, Longview, OBIEE Dashboards), as well as policies, procedures, and the University budget model.

• 2+ years strong supervisory and leadership experience.

This position is located in Ithaca, New York.
