Director, Global Cybersecurity Architecture and Engineering US-NY-Brooklyn Job ID: 2020-7506 Type: NYU IT (WS1170) # of Openings: 1 Category: Technology New York University Overview The Director, Global Security Architecture and Engineering is the key resource to lead the critical components of cyber security architecture, strategies, and design of engineering plans at the enterprise level. This role requires collaboration with all levels of NYU's leadership, management, and technical teams across NYU's global geographic locations. Direct interactions with IT leaders, functional architects and engineers is required to plan the design of secure computer systems, networks, and applications; and, to serve as a leader and advisor for the translation of those plans into requirements for the engineering teams to implement. The Director, Global Security Architecture and Engineering is expected to lead the development of a team of cyber security architects, engineers, contracted workers, consultants and students to support related efforts to deliver a set of optimally functional global solutions. In this role the Director, Global Security Architecture and Engineering engages all technical teams within the schools, international campuses, and study abroad sites and, NYU-IT, and team members in the Global Office of Information Security, to identify and implement technical improvements. The Director, Global Security Architecture and Engineering works directly with the Associate VP Global CISO to ensure an alignment of priorities, and directives consistent with institutional and NYU-IT goals, and the overall vision of the Associate VP Global CISO. The director is responsible for building out the cybersecurity Architecture and Engineering team including: hiring, setting goals, establishing metrics, monitoring performance, providing reviews, and establishing individual professional training and development plans. This role supervises three direct reports and thirty indirect reports. This role will be 100% remote work.
Reporting directly to NYU's Global CIO, the Associate VP Global Chief Information Security Officer leads the Office of Information Security (OIS) which is a high performance and highly technical team charged with the responsibility of mitigating cyber risks, minimizing the likelihood of a breach, and maintaining compliance with information security regulatory requirements for all of NYU. OIS aims to evolve the maturity of the NYU Information Security Program through people, process and technology while maintaining alignment with university initiatives, IT goals and core beliefs. OIS is made up of several functional areas including Operations Planning & Strategy, Security Architecture & Engineering, IT Risk Management, Detect Response & Forensics, IT Policy & Compliance and Security Awareness & Outreach.
