SHARE's purpose is to lead and support campus efforts to address interpersonal violence. The Office provides trauma-sensitive emergency response, intervention, and care to student survivors of sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking. SHARE also works closely with a network of campus and community partners to foster a University environment that is intolerant of abuse, responsive to needs of survivors, and holds perpetrators accountable for their actions. We aim to contribute to a campus culture in which interpersonal violence has no place and our distinctive community of learning is free to flourish.

The Prevention Programs Manager (Manager) responsibilities fall into two overarching areas: 1) the provision of clinical and support services for student-survivors, through crises management, short-term counseling, and victim advocacy, and 2) the day-to-day management of men’s engagement initiatives. Men’s engagement efforts are a key component of the SHARE violence prevention framework and will include, but and are not limited to: 1) developing and implementing initiatives that facilitate critical exploration of masculinities and their intersections with gender, race, class, sexuality and more; 2) deepening the community's understanding of interpersonal violence and reducing behaviors that lead to harm 3) partnering or collaborating with campus and external stakeholders to support students and build upon the best practices to engage men in violence prevention and wellbeing. The Manager will also support SHARE by assisting in the provision of emergency response.

Prevention & Educational Leadership

• Provides vision and leadership for all (current and new) men’s engagement programming in SHARE

• Leads, plans and delivers two current violence prevention initiatives, Men’s Allied Voices for a Respectful and Inclusive Community (MAVRIC) and Strength in Coaching on Relationships, Respect and Equality (SCORRE) with an intersectional approach, using evidence-informed intervention practices
• Leads development of MAVRIC’s social media presence and community engagement in partnership with MAVRIC members and steering committee

• Envisions, plans and participates in annual awareness-raising or educational programs (e.g. special guest lectures and new student orientations) on the intersections of masculinity, violence, social identities and more
• Tracks outreach and efficacy of prevention programs and contributes to office reporting of prevention and awareness programs
• Explores opportunities to expand men’s engagement and prevention work, including new programming, revising curricula or training approaches, and developing new partnerships

Program Development and Training

• Researches and evaluates evidence-informed educational programs directed toward high-risk, campus-based populations interpersonal violence prevention (e.g. healthy relationships, healthy masculinities, bystander intervention, etc.)
• Assists with developing and delivering annual and customized trainings across the campus community, including trainings to various student groups, staff colleagues and faculty
• Assists Associate Director with developing training content for the upcoming 4-year violence prevention curriculum
• Collaborates with SHARE colleagues, other health promotion staff and campus life staff (e.g., Women*s Center, LGBT Center, Carl A. Fields Center for Equality and Cultural Understanding) in the development of educational, outreach and training materials
• Recruits, trains, coaches, mentors, and supervises student peers and/or volunteers who will serve as role models for men-identified students related to the development of healthy relationships and healthy masculinity

Clinical Care and Advocacy (1)

• Delivers developmentally appropriate, evidence- and culturally-informed and trauma-sensitive services to student survivors of interpersonal violence and abuse.
• Provides short-term counseling and advocacy to scheduled and in-person clients.
• Provides suicide risk screening as clinically indicated and makes appropriate referrals to crisis response resources.
• Provides on call coverage in rotation with other SHARE professional staff, evening and weekend hours throughout the calendar year and manages timely on call phone line transfers.
• Maintains accurate and timely electronic health records, including documenting clinical contacts, communications, and consultations; uploading documents; and closing cases
• Engages in Quality Improvement and Peer Review processes to ensure the provision of high-quality services

Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

• Masters or doctorate in social work, psychology, women's and gender studies, public health, or related graduate degree and possesses clinical license.
• Three or more years of professional experience in a sexual violence-related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in sexual assault/intimate partner violence education, violence prevention strategies, and men’s engagement as prosocial bystanders and allies.
• Proven ability to support survivors in a trauma- and culturally-informed manner that respects a diversity of experiences across a range of ethnic/racial identities, gender identities, religious affiliation and practices, socioeconomic statuses, and sexual orientations.
• Possesses knowledge about the challenges and privileges of male identity formation and the relationship with violence.
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
• Can self-manage concurrent tasks and responsibilities with minimal oversight.
• Has demonstrated expertise in and is committed to social justice issues.
• Possesses knowledge about the risk and protective factors that contribute to interpersonal violence.
• Proven record of implementing evidence-informed primary prevention and prevention programming as it pertains to sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking.
• Able to use technology (electronic applications and social media) to effectively reach target audiences.
• Has advanced small and large group facilitation skills.
• Able to balance strong commitment to social justice with a capacity to navigate complex organizational systems.
• Has capacity to work some evening and weekend hours for prevention initiatives and emergent clinical response.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in higher education setting.
• Volunteer management experience.
• Knowledge of New Jersey and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking.
• Prior training as a county-based confidential sexual assault and domestic violence victims advocate in New Jersey.
