Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of Neurology. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: This postdoctoral position is in the laboratory of Dr. Yo-El Ju at Washington University in St. Louis (sites.wustl.edu/yoelju). The focus of the lab is the interaction of sleep and neurodegenerative diseases. The primary responsibility of the postdoctoral researcher role will be the “Biomarkers of Alzheimer disease in Sleep and Electroencephalography” (BASE) study, which seeks to develop biomarkers from biological signals (primarily electroencephalography, polysomnography, and actigraphy) to detect and track Alzheimer pathology in the preclinical stages. The postdoctoral researcher will develop signal analysis methods to extract potential biomarkers, and apply statistical methods such as machine learning to assess these neurophysiologic biomarkers against biofluid markers, clinical features, and neurocognitive performance. This appointment is not part of a clinical training program and is expected to last no more than five years. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in a relevant field, M.D., or equivalent doctorate degree. Salary Range: Base pay commensurate with experience.
