Job Summary: The primary functions of the Student Account Advisor II include but, are not limited to, all functions of cashiering, assisting customers in person and via email, analyzing accounts and providing student account related guidance. This position contributes to the success of the Office of Student Accounts by providing excellent customer service to the campus community. Due to processes being often complex and seasonally cyclical, it is important to anticipate common questions and to proactively educate our customers. The Student Account Advisor II must be able to work with confidence, consistent accuracy, and independence. Candidates who are easily adaptive to changing priorities will be most successful in this role. Essential Duties: Cashiering functions: Provide professional, comprehensive, efficient and courteous customer service, post payments, process deposits, removal of student account holds, cash checks and process/cash vouchers, analyze charges and payments, verify financial aid refunds, process documents for third party billing, balance cash drawer daily, process change orders, and process all incoming mail. Provide information and counsel account related inquiries via email and in-person. Balance vault and prepare daily bank deposit. Manage unclaimed accounting items. Serve as team lead in satellite office during peak season(s) and represent The Office of Student Accounts across campus at information resource fairs. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting OR (4) years related work experience. Must have excellent customer service and cash handling skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting and 2 years related experience. Higher Education experience a plus. Banking or financial institution experience preferred. Proven leadership skills. Experience assisting customers by email and/or in person. Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, data entry and basic math skills.
