Department : Management & Accountancy Full-Time/Part-Time : Full-Time Position Summary: The University of North Carolina Asheville Department of Management and Accountancy invites applications for an Assistant Professor tenure track position to begin Fall 2022. The primary fields of specialization sought for this position include business/data analytics, management information systems, and/or data science. Preference will be given to candidates who might also have teaching and/or research background in any of the following: data mining, decision support systems, emergent ethical considerations with big data, AI, or other current issues in the field. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to teaching undergraduate students in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will ideally teach courses in Management Information Systems, Decision Sciences, and Data Analytics. Candidates should possess a PhD in Business/Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or related disciplines. ABDs will also be considered if completion of a PhD is anticipated by time of appointment. We expect this faculty member to engage in academic advising and participate in departmental, university, and disciplinary service to support both our department and university strategic plans. In addition to having a passion for undergraduate teaching, research, and mentorship, the UNC Asheville faculty is committed to disciplinary teaching through an inter- and multi-disciplinary lens and providing a premier liberal arts education. Faculty members also teach across the University's Liberal Arts Core (LAC) program, our required interdisciplinary liberal arts curriculum in courses that include, but are not limited to: introductory (first-year) colloquia; diversity intensive courses that satisfy the Scientific Perspectives, Social Science courses and Arts and Ideas requirements; courses within the Humanities Program; and LAC Senior Capstone courses. UNC Asheville has been a national leader in undergraduate research for over 30 years, and over 60% of our students graduate each year having been involved in this important learning experience.
