POSITION START DATE IS – AUGUST 1, 2022 – FALL SEMESTER Position: Assistant/ Associate Professor of Business Preferred Areas of Specialization: Strategy, Finance, Accounting and/or Data Analytics Classification: Tenure -track Status: Full-time Reports to: Department Chair DESCRIPTION: The position is a tenure-track faculty appointment beginning in August 2022. The teaching load is 24 semester hours per year. The position will be involved in all aspects of department affairs, particularly the Master of Management program. Mars Hill University is a small liberal arts institution located 20 miles north of Asheville, N.C. The successful applicant will be student-centered and willing to help students reach their full potential through both classroom experiences and supporting co-curricular activities. QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. or OBA in Business or related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. Candidate must have appropriate qualifications through education, and/or professional certifications to teach quantitative courses at the graduate level in accounting, finance, statistics, and/or business analysis. Undergraduate and graduate teaching experience are strongly desired. RESPONSIBI LITIES: Duties include teaching and developing courses within the Business Department, which provides programs for traditional and non -traditional (online) undergraduate students, and masters level students, along with assisting with advising and mentoring majors. This position will be significantly involved with the Master of Management program, teaching quantitative-oriented courses, in both the face-to-face and online cohorts. Applicants must also be interested in participating in department and faculty governance, including program assessment and development.
