Position Summary The Genetics Data Analyst position is critical to the overall analytic support of core genetics programs and maintenance and operation of associated computer equipment and software. It primarily involves the collection, aggregation, evaluation and analysis of data and generating reports. Responsibilities Analyst Duties: ?? Collaborate with and assist investigators of various skill levels for computational tasks involving analyses of DNA sequences (including whole exome (WES) and whole genome (WGS)), RNA sequences, QTL data, and ophthalmic images, using available bioinformatic, imaging, and machine learning techniques ?? Carry out projects with limited PI supervision ?? Comprehensive understanding of software used in projects Basic Duties (including IT tasks): ?? Working Knowledge of Excel, Windows, Office365 and Linux operating system ?? Basic IT network understanding and management ?? Expected to assist resolving hardware and software issues of PCs that are deployed at some department laboratories by interacting with the Departmental IT group and the CUIMC IT group when necessary ?? Work with department and central IT to maintain security of devices per the requirements of the security department ?? Operate and maintain associated computers and software programs ?? Knowledge of R language, Python and Perl Minimum Qualifications Bachelor???s degree required or equivalent in education and experience plus 4 years of experience. Masters degree preferred in specific research field plus 4 years of related experience.
