Reporting to the Nephrology Divisional Administrator and under the day-to-day supervision of the Grants Manager, the Grants Coordinator provides direct support in the preparation and submission of grants and contract proposals. Additionally, the Grants Coordinator helps to manage a portfolio of projects from various funders for multiple principle investigators. The Grants Coordinator assists in the management of the financial post-award administration of grants and contracts including award set-up and subcontracts.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the grant submission process for all sponsored projects and clinical trials.
Develop budgets and coordinate progress reports.
Responsible for reviewing financial systems to ensure accuracy in grants setup, budgets, and project periods.
Follow up with SPA to ensure timely award setup in ARC.
Ensure that effort and time system is continuously monitored.
Liaise with central business offices such as SPA, SPF, Research Compliance, and CTO.
Administer pre- and post-award activities for research grants, contracts, and discretionary accounts.
Maintain detailed records of PIs??? other support, biosketches, and other grant submission documents.
Monitor revenue and expenses against budget projections for all clinical trials.
Attend meetings with PIs to review financial issues.
Assist with quarterly preparation of SOPs.
Perform other administrative and financial support duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience
Experience with budget development
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Proficiency in PC-based software products and automated accounting systems
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Strong commitment to customer service
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize to meet tight proposal deadlines with demonstrated tact, poise, diplomacy and professionalism
Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
Demonstrated ability to interpret federal regulations, procedures and/or compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in accounting or finance
Two or more years??? experience in a pre-award and/or sponsored research administration in a university setting
Other Requirements
Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
